Retrospective (レトロスペクティヴ)とは、「回顧展」の意。
回顧展とは、
これまでの偉大な画家等に焦点をあて、
現時代においてその功績を振り返りつつ、
作品を展示する催しのことである。
そして、守破離とは茶道の言葉。
古の基本を徹底的に学び守り、
己のものとしてその殻を破り、
そこから離れ境地を開くという意味である。
その名称のもと、我々は音楽において、

先人たちが築きあげてきた
偉大な音楽を学んだ上で
<破>
現代における
音楽の表現とあり方を追求し
<離>
時代やジャンルにとらわれることなく、
自由な発想で展開してゆく。

Retrospective
A retrospective exhibition is an event
that focuses on a great artist and displays their work
while reflecting on their achievements in the present day.
And the term "守破離 Shu-ha-ri" is a term
from the Japanese tea ceremony.
It means thoroughly learning and following the traditional basics,
breaking out of one's shell,
and moving away from that shell to break new ground.
Under this name, we
<LEARN>
the great music of our predecessors,
<OWN>
the musical expression and form in the modern age,
<EVOLVE>
by developing music with freedom
without limiting ourselves to a period or genre.
